Join the Mentorship ProgramOur year-long mentorship program features a series of bi-weekly workshops hosted at the University of Michigan Detroit Center. The purpose of the workshops are to build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships between local minority high schoolers and minority University of Michigan students. High school students will have the unique opportunity to work up close and personal with mentors who share a similar background. This allows students to receive advice that is unique to their personal experience. These commonalities allow us to push our mentees above and beyond what they thought imaginable.
Each workshop will be centered around a central theme designed to build confidence, knowledge, and self-determination amongst our young participants. Our workshops are designed to be fun and engaging, while also serving a larger purpose. |

Attend Excursion DayEach year B3 host a large scale campus-wide career exploration day for 150 higher school students. Students spend the day exploring the University of Michigan campus learning about various college resources and opportunities through career specific tours, activities, and discussions. Students will learn from future leaders, in their respective fields, about the world of possibilities that postsecondary educations opens up for them. The day concludes with a mentorship roundtable where students get to ask any questions they might have about life, academics, resources, etc. in small groups with one or two student mentors.
All of our student leaders and mentors come from underrepresented backgrounds, so that high school students will get a chance to receive advice and guidance that is unique to their own experience. At the end of the program, all participants will have the opportunity to sign-up for our year-long mentorship program. |
